I love The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters
Have you seen this movie yet!?
If not, please watch it immediately.
(It is available to watch instantly on Netflix, btw)
It is a documentary about the fight between two men to be the world record holder in Donkey Kong.
Even if you have absolutely no interest in Donkey Kong
(or any other classic video games)
you cannot help but love this movie.
You will find yourself rooting for this guy:
Steve Wiebe.
He’s the good guy in this movie.
He plays DK in his garage with his son hanging off his neck.
All he wants is to be recognized for his high score…
but SOMEONE keeps messing things up for him.
And that someone, is Billy Mitchell.
Billy Mitchell is the bad guy in this movie.
He set the DK high score in 1982 and will do whatever it takes to keep his title.
This movie has it all…
drama.
emotion.
You will laugh…you will cry…you will be grateful your husband isn’t a professional gamer.
Do yourself a favor and watch this movie.
You will love it.
I know I love it.

Great movie. My in-laws live a street over from Steve Wiebe in Redmond, WA. One of their neighbors got him to sign "It's on like Donkey Kong" shirts for us. I happen to be wearing it right now. Awesome. :)
So... happened to be flipping through netflix the other night with the hubs and told him you'd mentioned this movie. We both got sucked in. I don't even know what to say about it. I do know that afterward, my husband looked up that the current record holder (Jan of this year) is a surgeon or some kind. Crazy, huh!? Okay... enough weird random info.
