TJ refuses to let me paint any of the walls in our house.
If we paint, we have to prime all the walls when we move out.
TJ doesn’t want to do that, so no painting for us.
However, I have been wanting to add some color to Riker’s room.
Since I can’t paint, I have to find other ways to add color.
I saw this idea on this website.
I originally planned on doing this in our bedroom…
but then my super creative mom suggested this idea.
Each frame contains a picture of Riker for every month.
Imagine clock hands in the middle…
it will be a functional clock once I can find some clock hands!
2 months old = 2 o’clock
6 months old = 6 o’clock.
Since Riker isn’t a year old yet, the empty frames are currently just filled with scrapbook paper.
I’m also planning on hanging these letters on another blank wall…
I’m thinking yellow ribbon? Or brown (to match his bedding)? Or just white?
I haven’t hung them yet because I can’t decide what ribbon to use.
Slowly yet surely it is starting to look more like a little kids room…
and less like a sad, empty, boring room.

THAT is the CUTEST thing! I've seen the clocks with frames, but I haven't seen someone do a picture for every month, that is ADORABLE!
Go to www.timesavers.com for your clock and movement. If you let me know the dimensions of your clock I can prob even tell you the best size for the price or you can just browse their online catalog. You can also find them at klockit.com. You will need a mini high torque quartz movement...prob about $5
I can't wait to see the finished product!
so cute. You can hang fabric on walls like wall paper. You'd have to google exactly how to do it, but it's basically starch and water and you paste it up there. I've heard it's super easy and comes off with water...I've never been brave enough to try it, but maybe someday! Then you have options of lots of color without having to paint or prime.
So I found your blog and I have to say that clock is so stinkin' cute! What a fantastic idea!
As for which ribbon to use (to hang the letters), I'd go with either brown or yellow (to tie in other colors you've already used in the room).
I have read your blog for awhile. First time commenting. What about a gingham check ribbon? Or one with trucks or trains on it.
