Know what’s driving me crazy?
This: Riker is a thumb sucker.
GAAHHAAHHAA!
How do you get a two and a half month old to stop sucking his thumb!?

Riker’s Blessing
Sunday, March 21, 2010
Riker James Grier was given a name and a blessing.
We were so lucky to have so much family come out for this special day!
(And yes, my bangs are in my face in every single picture. I’ve come to terms with it. You should, too)
TJ and I both had family members come out.
We loved getting to see our families!
4 Generations
Tom and Deb came out from Washington to meet their very first grandbaby.
And Grandpa Phil met his first great-grandbaby!
And the Lewis clan was able to come out too!
(Except for the Potter family and Summer…we missed them tons!)
Grandma and Papa Lewis loved seeing their 6th grandbaby…
especially since he’s the cutest one!
And the newest Lewis, Bernerd, spent some time with Riker too!
(Bernerd is kind of like the Travelocity gnome…he traveled around with the fam on their spring break trip since Jess was tired of having her picture taken all the time.)
Riker loved all the attention he got this weekend and will definitely miss all the loves and hugs and kisses he received.
Oh, and remember how I am so super excited for my trip to AZ?!
Well, here’s the proof that this trip is very much needed:
Lindsey and I have become lily white while we’ve been living in Ohio, so some time in the sun is pretty much a necessity right now.

St. Patty’s Day
Last weekend, Calli came to C-bus to visit!
While she was here, we went to the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Dublin, OH.
A little rain (okay, a lot of rain) didn’t stop us from having a great time!
We are pretty competitive and were trying to see who could collect the most loot.
Despite my best efforts, I think Calli beat me.
The bead necklaces were definitely the most coveted hand out!
The Laudie’s drove out from Dayton to spend the day with us, too.
To escape the torrential rain, we camped out in McDonald’s before the parade started.
Ronald McDonald even made an appearance.
Did Calli and I do anything else while she was here?
Of course we did.
We went to Dayton to visit Lindsey, Calli loved on Riker, and we even made ruffle cardigans.
Did we take any pictures of these activities?
Of course we didn’t.
Hm, maybe next time.

Refashion: Ruffle Cardigan
I’m super crafty these days.
Well…I’m super good at stalking craft blogs.
I found this idea on THIS cute blog and decided to try it!
I didn’t take any before pictures…
but I started with an Old Navy black long sleeve tee.
It looked something like this:
Now, it looks like this:
It is now an elbow length ruffle cardigan.
Not too shabby for my first attempt!
I learned some things along the way and have ideas to make it better, so I’m working on cardigan #2.
You should make a cardigan too…
because then we can match and it will be adorable.

2 Months
Riker is now two months old.
Well, technically he is currently two months and two days.
But we took him to the doc on Friday
(when he was exactly two months)
for his 2 month check up.
His current stats are:
Weight: 12 pounds 8 ounces (71st percentile)
Height: 22.5 inches ( 35th percentile)
Head: 40 cm (15th percentile)
He’s still fat, still short, and has a tiny head.
This visit also included 3 immunization shots.
After dealing with the trauma of his frenulectomy, I was able to hold back tears this time.
But Riker, once again, turned tomato red and screamed for 5 minutes.
He stared at me with those big blue eyes
(yes, they are still very much blue)
and probably thought I was the meanest mom ever.
But then I held him and rocked him and gave him kisses
and he forgot that he was mad at me!
Luckily, no more shots for another two months.

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes
Riker is almost 2 months old.
Crazy, I know.
Time flies when you are sleep deprived!
We have seen a lot of changes in Riker lately.
Change #1: His diapers
Riker used to wear newborn sized diapers.
Now he wears size one diapers.
This change made me sad.
Mainly because newborn diapers are much cuter.
When Riker was born, he had no arm rolls.
Now his arms are all sorts of chunky.
And there is nothing cuter than chunky baby arms.
Change #3: Chubby cheeks
Riker’s cheeks are all sorts of chubby now.
And just like his chunky arms, his chubby cheeks are adorable.
Sometimes I just want to eat his face…
but that would be awkward.
Change #4: SMILES!
This is definitely my favorite change!
His smiles are inconsistent…
therefore difficult to capture with my camera.
But seeing his chubby cheeks squish up when he smiles just melts my heart.

THE ‘ZONA
Guess what!?
Chicken butt
No, but seriously…guess what!?
I just bought a plane ticket.
Riker and I are flying to Arizona in April.
April 12 to April 25.
So excited.
I plan to:
eat my weight in Mexican food
sit in the sunshine
and see all my friends
So clear your calendars.
Hooray!
