Catching Frogs

or toads.

I really don't know the difference.

We are staying at my grandparent's place in Gilbert

(which works out great since they go to northern AZ for the summers).

Sometimes there are frogs (or toads) in their backyard.

And since TJ is a 5 year old boy, he had to catch one.

Riker really didn't care too much about the frog...toad...amphibian.

As soon as I pulled the camera out, he stared at it instead of the...amphibian.

Sometimes, Riker does really cute things.

But as soon as I pull the camera out to capture the moment,

he stops and stares at the camera.

Stinker.

Zoo Trip

Since we’ve been in C-bus, TJ has been dying to go to the zoo.
Once he finished his first year of law school
(hooray!)
we took a family trip to the zoo!

Riker didn’t really care too much about the animals.
He did stare at all the fish in the aquarium though!

The silly pig/warthog/whatever it was walked behind us right as we were taking the picture.

Riker was the same height as the Humboldt penguin.
You can tell how thrilled he is about this picture.

TJ loves the zoo and loved pointing out all the animals to Riker
(even though Riker didn’t really care).
 

TJ waited in the line with all the other little boys to pet the snake.

There were a lot of really great exhibits at the zoo.
My favorites include:
*the new polar bears
*the brown bear that was pacing and foaming at the mouth
*the sun bear that was climbing up the fence
*the gorilla that was sticking his tongue out at us

We will definitely be going back to the zoo!

Exersaucer

I put Riker in an exersaucer the other day…

I think he likes it!

4 Months Old

My baby boy is 4 months old today.
Seriously!?
It totally doesn’t feel like it’s been that long.
But my calendar says it is so.

Riker had a check up today.
His 4 month stats are:
Weight = 16 pounds, 2 ounces (75th percentile)
Height = 25 inches (55th percentile)
Head = 42 centimeters (44th percentile)

Aw!
Look at his buddha belly.
And those thighs!
And that Charlie Brown head (he totally gets that from me).

Riker also had to get more shots today.
Super fun.

If you said
“Riker is content and oblivious to the awful pain he’s about to endure in the first picture and screaming bloody murder while turning bright red in the second picture”
you would be right!
He screamed and screamed and screamed some more for 5 solid minutes.
I hate shots.

At 4 months, Riker can:
*sit up with support (he’s cool with his Bumbo now)
*hold his head up
*grab things with his hands and hold on with super human strength (“things” includes toys, my nose, my hair, my necklace, my lip, my shirt, etc)
*roll halfway over (from back to side…he can’t seem to get all the way over)
*straighten legs to stand up with support
*kick his legs like crazy, especially in the bath!
*create ridiculous amounts of drool
*sleep 12 hours at night (holla!)

Pretty much, my baby is awesome.

Trailer Trash Bash

Yesterday was my friend Britney’s birthday.
Britney has an odd obsession with Dog the Bounty Hunter…
so we decided to have a Trailer Trash Bash for her b-day!

Mug shots were taken of all our guests.

And we definitely played root beer pong.

This is the tasty birthday cake…

yes, those are Twinkies and Ding Dongs.

The trailer trash tots got to color black velvet Nascar posters!

This is Riker and Luke…
they are only 3 weeks apart, but Riker could probably eat Luke and have room left over for a couple of Twinkies!

The party was a BLAST and we are already brainstorming ideas for our next theme party!
